Mission Statement The number of ESL (English Second Language) adults increases every day in our community. It is the goal of Calvary’s Open Door ESL/HSE – Academic Prep program to reach the needs of our ESL community in helping prepare them for reaching their goals of increasing their academic skills for college prep and/or job enhancement.

This program will meet the needs of our community by providing skill development along with developing relationships. Participants will use these skills for either furthering and/or enhancing their job opportunities and/or continue in their education, primarily that of college, with an affordable program.   Having this program allows students, volunteers, staff and community to not only come to develop relationships, but also opens the door for students to learn of resources available outside Open Door through partnerships within the community. Building relationships starts within the classroom, but it also helps build relationships within the community.
